Pathside grass cut
Thanks to the person who contacted Northumberland County Council and asked for the grass to be cut alongside the footpath. It was so overgrown that it was dangerous forcing people to walk on the road or very close to the edge. The grass was cut within 48 hours of making the complaint. Cannot understand why regular users of the path had not made complaint sooner.

Rev. Peter Barham last Railway films
A note from Peter asking for us to publicise his film and talks. We are very happy to do so.
Could you publicise these round your networks pleaseSaturday 18 June - Peter's final Railway Films - after eight years of showing railway films to the good people of Ponteland, it is time to move to Derby and Midland Railway territory. Peter will show a selection of his favourite films at St Mary's Church Hall, Ponteland, NE20 9PZ at 3 pm and 7.30 pm. We will visit the Peak District, watch "Any Man's Kingdom" about 1950s Northumberland, have a trip to Scotland, and post a letter on a train. Admission free, donations for British Heart Foundation, doughnuts in the interval.Wednesday 22 June - after several requests (well, three), Peter will give his talk on John Wilson Carmichael in St Mary's Church Hall, Ponteland, NE20 9PZ at 7.30 pm. Carmichael is a North East artist, most famous for his nautical paintings, who also sketched the Newcastle and Carlisle Railway as it was being built. Admission free, donations for British Heart Foundation, but no doughnuts in the interval (twice in one week would be too indulgent!)Thanks for your support over the yearsCheersPeter

Newcastle International Airport is extending its car parking facilities. The expansion will see an additional 1,600 spaces added at the airport.
Preliminary work on the scheme is already underway and the project is expected to take 21 weeks to complete.
The new extension is bordered by Ponteland Road and Prestwick Road. The airport says it requires the space to support its demand for long-term parking capacity.
